Everything Williams Trombones

Earl Williams devoted his life to making great trombones. In 1927 Earl formed a partnership with Spike Wallace, the principal trombonist in the Los Angeles Philharmonic and produced the Williams Wallace Trombone

After the Great Depression, Earl continued to manufacture and refine his instruments in Burbank, CA. He, like Domenick, possessed great attention to detail and commitment to produce instruments which met the performers requirements.

Earl Williams innovation resulted in three U.S. patents. He developed a unique slide tuning in the slide system that was patented and pictured below, an effective and efficient water key system and curved brass to facilitate and ergonomic and effective way of holding the slide with minimal fatigue on the player. Earl continued to produce fine hand crafted instruments until his death in 1972. His son, Bob continued Earl’s work until his passing in 1979.
